Frequently asked questions

Who is LessonLayer for?
External lecturers and module teams, independent trainers and online-course creators, textbook authors and publisher editors, and small education or training providers who already have a lesson and want one hard concept in it made interactive.
What do I have to send you?
The teaching material you already have: slides, a document, notes, or a link to it. If you know the sticking point, tell us; if not, we'll look for the strongest opportunity ourselves.
What is an interactive teaching asset?
A focused, browser-based simulation, visualisation, demonstration, or data exploration built around one concept your learners find hard, delivered as accessible, dependency-free HTML.
What does LessonLayer not replace?
Your lesson. LessonLayer does not generate or replace whole lessons, courses, or teaching materials. It adds one interactive layer to a lesson you already have and control.
How long does it take?
3 working days from an accepted brief.
What's included in a revision?
One revision round within the scope agreed in your brief.
Is the finished interactive accessible?
Yes. Every delivered interactive is built to be accessible and dependency-free.
How is it delivered?
As a hosted URL and a zip file, with a perpetual licence to use and host it within your own teaching or organisation. The hosting period is confirmed with your brief.
What happens to material I submit?
It is used to produce your Opportunity Scan and, if you go ahead, your commissioned interactive. It is retained for 90 days. Uploaded files are stored as you sent them; they are never executed or automatically parsed. See our privacy page.
Do you track learners?
No. LessonLayer does not create learner accounts, collect learner personal data, or track learner activity across sessions.
Will you generate my whole lesson with AI?
No. AI may help structure and present material you supply, but LessonLayer does not invent underlying science and does not generate whole lessons. Founding deliveries are human-reviewed before delivery.
Do you integrate with my LMS?
Not in phase 1. Delivery is a hosted URL and a zip file, with no LMS, LTI, or SSO integration.
