Build a whole module (beta)
Plan a whole module, with variety.
Add your lectures. LessonLayer plans activities across the module, so lessons don't keep repeating the same interactions.
Whole modules need pilot access. Free trial codes don't work here: a trial makes one lesson, on the Make a lesson page. About the Beta pilot.
1. Name your module
Enter a name and your pilot access code.
From your pilot invitation. Enter it once; this browser remembers it (the same code as on the Make a lesson page). No code? Contact [email protected].
Your pilot access code is saved in this browser.
How module history works
The name is used only to avoid repeating an activity across separate sessions. LessonLayer keeps a scrambled code of the name and the identifiers of the activities used in lessons you download (never the name, the lecture text or a title), while your access lasts.
2. Add your lectures
Upload one or more files for each lecture.
More detail
One entry per lecture. A lecture that comes as more than one file (part 1 and part 2) is still ONE entry: choose all its files and put them in order. PowerPoint (.pptx), Word (.docx), PDF, Markdown or plain text; a PDF is read as printed, so any notes printed on its pages are read too. Files are read in this browser, speaker notes are never included, and only the extracted text is sent. Please do not include student personal data.
Planning makes one extra request to the AI provider for the whole module. It is not charged.
3. Review the plan
Adjust the activities before building your lessons. An activity is offered only if something in the lecture relates to it, and the same activity cannot be used twice unless you say why.
4. Your lessons
Lessons are made on our side, a few at a time, so you can close this tab and come back: this page picks them up again (they are kept for 24 hours, or until downloaded). Each is charged at the AI provider's cost once it is built and ready to use; one that fails or is blocked costs nothing.
